Divine Mercy Parish Men's Club
The Divine Mercy Parish Men's Club is a service driven organization dedicated to supporting the needs of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School and the Divine Mercy parish community.
Men's Club members answer the call for volunteers on a regular basis, performing many different upkeep and maintenance functions, as well as organizing and executing numerous fundraising activities that benefit both, the parish facilities, as well as the parishioners themselves.
At the end of the 2010 school year, the SEAS Men’s Club had 103 active members and is clearly the largest support organization in the new parish. And now, with the completed merger of Divine Mercy Parish, our strengths, abilities and talents will only continue to grow for the greater good of our community. Annual dues, which are now $45, covers all food and refreshments during regular gatherings and can be paid at the meeting.
Congratulations
Congratulations go out to the newly elected 2010-2011 Men's Club Executive Board. The President is Jeff Hinyub, Vice-Presidents are Billy D'Aunoy and David Soyez, Secretary (or Administrative Assistant as he now likes to be referred to as) Ryan Robbins and Treasurer Giz Bedran.
Eight Board members were also elected with the final four members being decided by the Executive Board before the next general meeting.
Upcoming events
The Divine Mercy Men's Club will host the first ever "Family Night" for paid members and their families at Woodlake Tennis and Swim Club this Saturday, September 11 from 4 PM to 10 PM. Come out and enjoy an evening of swimming, food and fun with other members of the club and their families. The Men's Club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks. Everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish if possible. In order to purchase the correct amount of food, we need as accurate a count as possible of the number of people in your family that will be attending. Please email Jeff Hinyub at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Thursday night.
A reminder that the Parish Fair is fast approaching. On October 15, 16 and 17th, we will once again take charge of the food booth (not to mention setup, tear down, cleanup and any other duties asked of us). We will need all hands on deck for this one.
In addition to our normal activities during the year (Frying Turkeys, Fish Fry, End of Year Crawfish Boil, Golf Tournament) we will also host the first Divine Mercy Parsih Chili Cookoff competition on January 29th, 2011. This competition will be open to the public and will hopefully become a major yearly fundraiser for the club.
So, as you can see, we have a big year ahead of us. Come join us for some fun, fellowship and service.
