*The Children's Liturgy of the Word is currently not being held. We will update as soon as this beloved ministry resumes*
Every 10:30 am Sunday Mass offers in a separate room a Liturgy of the Word for children, through which children 4 years old and up who have not yet made their First Holy Communion, can hear and experience the Word of God at their own level.
The Children are read the Mass reading and the gospel from the children's liturgy of the word book and then have it explained it to them in words that they can understand. We follow a specific routine so that the children are able to follow along. Every Sunday we create a craft or activity that goes along with the main message of the gospel. Once finished, we then return back to church and bring up the gifts for liturgy of the Eucharist.

We've compiled a list of helpful resources to help your child engage in the upcoming Sunday's readings, Mass, and our Catholic Faith. Both our Children's Liturgy of the Word Volunteer Teachers as well as the parents of our participants are welcome to utilize these materials.

We currently have 12 ministers that rotate weekly. Each Sunday we have 3 ministers present for children's liturgy: one leader and two assistants.
All ministers must have safe environment training.
Leaders lead about once every 8-12 weeks.
The leader prepares the activity with their own resources. It can be as simple as a color sheet. We have files in the closet that we have kept records of what has been done in the past so that a craft can be easily recreated (scissors, crayons and glue are readily available in our teaching space). There is also a list of online resources (including crafts) that are helpful for understanding the gospel, to help further explain it to the kids.
If you are only interested in assisting we can easily make that happen for you and rotate according to your availability.
