This spring, Brother Martin High School invites 5th, 6th, and 7th grade boys and girls to participate in the inaugural “The Joy of the Resurrection” essay contest. Brother Martin is excited for this new opportunity to partner with schools and/or church parishes to showcase our young adults and their understanding of Easter.
Submit an essay of 200 to 400 words on the topic “The Joy of the Resurrection.” Easter Sunday is a glorious day in the Church calendar. Why is this moment so special? What does Easter mean to us every day, not just on this particular Sunday?
Entries must be received by Brother Martin High School by Tuesday, March 30th at 3 p.m. Entries can be submitted electronically or in print. No late entries accepted.
Email to: [email protected] or Mail to: Mr. Thomas Mavor, Brother Martin High School, 4401 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122.
Format: The essay should be typed double spaced and in size 11 or 12 font. The student’s name, grade level, and current school should be included on a separate, but attached page.
Awards: A first and second place winner will be chosen in each of the grade categories: 5th, 6th, and 7th grades.
Participation and winner recognition will occur during the week of April 19th. Special prizes for the essay contest will be announced with the winning recipients.
