Farewell Drop-In for Sister Jackie of the Daughters of St Paul

The Daughters of St. Paul are hosting a drop-in on Saturday, January 28 to say “Thank you and Godspeed” to Sister Jacqueline Jean-Marie Gitonga who has been Provincial Councilor for the United States-English speaking Canada Province of the Daughters of St. Paul by the Superior Genera, Sister Anna Caiazza. Sister Jackie will be leaving New Orleans on the 29th, but has already assumed many of the duties of her three-year term. For the present, she will also continue as the national coordinator of the Association of Pauline Cooperators, the lay branch of the Pauline Family founded by Blessed James Alberione.
Come to the Pauline bookstore (4403 Veterans, between Houma and Clearview) between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m on Saturday January 27 to send Sister Jacqueline Jean-Marie on her way with an assurance of prayers for her new assignment!
Sister Jacqueline Jean-Marie studied at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Kenya) before moving to the United States for graduate studies at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). It was during graduate school that she discerned her vocation as a Daughter of St. Paul. Months after completing a Ph. D. in Human Resources Development, she joined the community in 2009, professing vows four years later. She has carried out the community’s media ministry in St. Louis, Boston, Rome and Chicago, and has been stationed at the Metairie bookstore of the Daughters of St. Paul for the past four years.
