Understanding personal relationships can help us understand our relationship with God. There is a wide spectrum of personal relationships in our lives. Certainly, we are strangers to the overwhelming majority of people, but there are others in our lives with whom our relationship has progressed from being strangers to being acquaintances—we know faces, names, characteristics. Some of our acquaintanceships have progressed to friendship, and from friendship, at times, to close relationships.

We're coming up on the Fourth Sunday of Lent, which means it is time for a Lenten checkup! How are you doing? What are you struggling with? I remember those Lents when I kept my resolution but still failed in what I set out to do. By giving up chocolate, soft drinks, the internet and social media, I emerged from those 40 days slimmer, less addicted to caffeine, and Facebook-free, yet no stronger spiritually. The Lents that drew me closer to God were those when I stopped trying to “better myself,” and submitted to the will of the Lord...

We encourage all parishioners of Divine Mercy Parish to share in this consecration by offering prayers on March 25 and will offer the Prayer of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at all Masses on the weekend of March 26 and 27. The St. Joseph's Altar is a Sicilian tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Sicily is a rocky island with erratic weather conditions which brought either droughts or torrential rains. The Sicilians' mere existence was a daily struggle. A lengthy famine seized the island and the dry, cracked earth yielded no life-giving crops. The starving farmers had only their deep faith remaining. They prayed to St. Joseph, the patron saint of Italy, to intercede to God for them...
As you examine your life during the Lenten season, you might find yourself reflecting on plans to care for your family should the unexpected happen. A Will allows you to choose how to distribute the assets that you have accumulated during your lifetime, and a charitable bequest in your Will provides the flexibility to use part of these assets for the charities that mean the most to you. Dear Parishioners and Friends of Divine Mercy Parish, How do people know we love them? When we love, we act; we comfort; we help; we show we care. We redouble our efforts during Lent, in a very focused way, in order to develop our spiritual stamina for living our faith well throughout the year. This is how we show both Jesus and our neighbor we love them. During this holy season of Lent, we continue our work for those who are sick and suffering, for those who need to experience the love and kindness of a simple act of love. Our 2022 Lenten Service Project is not about giving things up but about bringing joy and happiness to the lives of children and their families. This year we are partnering with the Magic Yarn Project to provide whimsical, giggle-inducing character wigs and beanies to children who are battling cancer...
