Dear Parishioners and Friends:
Here at Divine Mercy Parish, we are privileged to play a part in God’s grand narrative for the entire cosmos – the narrative we Catholics call Salvation History! This story has a Hero, but it’s not any of us. The story of our parish family tells the greater story of the Gospel of Jesus Christ— how He reconciled us to the Father, redeeming us by His Precious Blood and continuing His presence amongst us through the proclamation of His Word, the celebration of the sacraments, and our communion with one another in the Body of Christ we call the Church. In everything we do, God is glorified.
As a parish family, we give honor and glory to God by using our time, talents, and resources to further His kingdom and make disciples of all nations. Stewarding our gifts well makes this mission possible. The faithfulness and generosity of our parishioners to tell the greater story (the proclamation of the Gospel) helps ministry take place at Divine Mercy Parish, in our community and throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
As your pastor, I am pleased to unveil our most recent Pastoral Life Report – a summary of our stewarding of the gifts that God has given to our parish and a celebration of the many ways that our Lord has blessed us this past fiscal year. I invite you to take a few minutes to read about the wonderful things our parish has accomplished and the opportunities made available for your spiritual growth.
Divine Mercy Parish will use the annual Pastoral Life Report as a vehicle to:
The desire of myself, the administrative and pastoral staff, and the members of both the Finance Council and Pastoral Council is to use this tool to provide fiscal transparency and accountability to those who support Divine Mercy Parish and to celebrate the numerous ways that God has blessed our community.
I thank God for all He has given to us at Divine Mercy Church. I also thank you for your open hearts and willing hands.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Robert Cooper
