“Those who trust in the Lord shall renew their strength….
They shall run and not grow weary.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Spiritual Life is a journey that we engage in all of our life as we seek to find God and come to know and love God completely. In our faith every individual is expected, with the help of clergy and community, to nurture and tend the garden of his or her own religious life each and every day. We cannot do it alone.
The spiritual life of our parishioners is strengthened and nourished in numerous ways, beginning with our worshipping together each Sunday at Mass. Faith sharing groups, faith-based organizations and clubs, as well as other activities, enrich each other by their sharing and engaging in their Catholic faith.
"The sacred liturgy does not exhaust the entire activity of the Church": it must be preceded by evangelization, faith, and conversion. It can then produce its fruits in the lives of the faithful: new life in the Spirit, involvement in the mission of the Church, and service to her unity." -CCC #1072
While the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass contains to fullest expression of our Faith as we encounter our Lord through the Sacred Liturgy and Most Holy Eucharist, if it is the only way that we encoutner our Savior throughout the week, we aren't reaching our fullest potential. Our Lord wants to spend time with us and the more we exercise our faith outside of Mass, the stronger our spiritual muscles become and the more we grow to appreciate mass itself.
Come grow in your faith and watch your soul be stirred into flame! (2 Timothy 1:6)
