A Catholic lay ministry inspired by Gospel values, the St. Anthony Ministry to the Needy leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person services to the needy and suffering.
As a reflection of the whole family of God, members are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level. Nourished by prayer, volunteers are united in mutually supportive gatherings by their mutual spirit of humility, charity, and sharing.
This ministry of our parish provides food and limited assistance with utilities. Confidentiality is maintained, as well as respect for the person requesting assistance.
If you are in need of food or assistance, and if you live within the territorial boundaries of Divine Mercy Parish, please contact the St. Anthony Ministry to the Needy directly at (504) 327-7783.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS!!
The St Anthony Ministry delivered 9 cartons of donations collected from Divine Mercy Parishioners to Covenant House in New Orleans. Items included soap, shampoo, deoderant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shaving cream and razors, and many other products that will help their young people remain clean and healthy.
Haley and Emily were there to accept the donations and provide some additional information for us to share with you about their great organization that helps our youth in New Orleans.
Last year, Covenant House provided comprehensive services to 896 youth. Our Crisis Center cared for 480 young people. We expanded the number of off-site independent apartments available for individuals and families, including graduates of our Rights of Passage transitional living program. We also provided supportive housing for our youth with chronic mental illness and disabilities. 60% of our young people come to us from New Orleans, 26% from around Louisiana, and 14% from across the country.

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity!
